Two‐Dimensional Velocity of the Magnetic Structure Observed on July 11, 2017 by the Magnetospheric Multiscale Spacecraft

In order to determine particle velocities and electric field in the frame of magnetic structure, one first needs velocity structure spacecraft observations. Here, we demonstrate two methods a two-dimensional for reconnection event observed magnetotail by Magnetospheric Multiscale (MMS) on July 11, 2017, Spatio-Temporal Difference (STD) recently developed polynomial reconstruction method. Both these use measurements; technique also uses current density measured instrument. We find rough agreement between results our with other determinations previously published. explain number features STD show that is most likely be valid within distance 2 spacings from centroid MMS spacecraft. are susceptible contamination magnetometer calibration errors.
